Beijing, June 17: China has successfully launched a new satellite, Shijian-31, into its designated orbit aboard a Long March-3B carrier rocket from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China's Sichuan Province.
According to Chinese authorities, the satellite will primarily be used for space environment detection and monitoring, supporting research and technological development related to conditions in Earth's orbital environment.
The mission also marked a significant milestone for China's space program, becoming the 651st flight mission of the Long March carrier rocket series, one of the country's most widely used launch vehicle families.
China has continued to expand its space capabilities through a series of satellite launches, lunar exploration projects, and advancements in space technology. The successful deployment of Shijian-31 underscores Beijing's ongoing efforts to strengthen its scientific and strategic presence in space.
The launch was carried out as planned, with the satellite successfully entering its preset orbit and beginning its operational phase.
