The real question about Kaleshwar is this: Is such a massive project safe?

Increasing questions regarding the safety of the Kaleshwaram project... Experts call for clarity on construction quality, technical flaws, and leakages. Safety is crucial for a project built with public funds.

Telangana/karnataka

The prestigious Kaleshwaram project, constructed in Telangana, has once again become the center of intense debate. Not just thousands of crores, but lakhs of crores of public money have been spent on this massive irrigation project, and the questions arising regarding construction quality, engineering standards, and safety now require technical answers, not political ones!

During the tenure of former Chief Minister KCR, the Kaleshwaram project was advanced significantly by the government as a key solution to Telangana's water needs. However, over time, the technical issues, damages, leakages, and maintenance concerns regarding critical structures in the project have raised numerous doubts about its safety.

If a small pond in our villages and towns poses a danger when it overflows, what about Kaleshwaram?

We have often seen that when water is suddenly released, it can endanger crops, properties, and ultimately lives in the lower areas.

If critical structures in a large-scale project like Kaleshwaram encounter problems, how far will the impact extend? What safety systems are in place to protect the people in the lower areas during emergencies? These are the key questions now arising among the general public.

Setting politics aside, answers regarding safety must be provided!

Who is at fault regarding Kaleshwaram? What negligence led to these issues? Were all design, material, quality control, and safety standards adhered to during construction? Are there any deficiencies in maintenance?

It is not enough for the ruling and opposition parties to exchange mutual accusations regarding these questions.

An independent expert technical review, a comprehensive safety audit, and a report accessible to the public are what is needed now.

If there are any flaws in the project, they should not be hidden; a permanent solution must be shown. Those responsible must be held accountable. A robust safety system should be established to prevent recurrence in the future.

Whose Kaleshwaram is it?

Kaleshwaram is not the property of any single political party. It is a public project built with the money of the people of Telangana.

Therefore, the fundamental question is not “Whose project is Kaleshwaram?”

The real question is “How safe is Kaleshwaram?” If there is even a one percent doubt regarding the safety of such a massive project built with public funds, it is the government's responsibility to scientifically address that concern.

It is time to view Kaleshwaram not as a political battleground but as a crucial issue related to public safety. The truth must be revealed to the people. Answers based on technical evidence are required. Responsibility must be clarified.
