WASHINGTON, June 3: U.S. President Donald Trump has revealed that he expressed concern to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over Israel’s continued military actions involving Lebanon, while emphasizing that the strategic partnership between Washington and Jerusalem remains firmly intact.
Speaking about his discussions with Netanyahu, Trump said he was not angry but was “a little bit perturbed” by the ongoing fighting. According to the U.S. president, he urged the Israeli leader to seek an end to the hostilities, saying, “Bibi, we gotta stop this.”
Despite his concerns, Trump stressed that the long-standing alliance between the United States and Israel remains unwavering. He reiterated that security cooperation and diplomatic ties between the two countries continue to be a cornerstone of U.S. policy in the Middle East.
The remarks come amid heightened regional tensions and growing international calls for de-escalation along Israel’s northern border. Analysts view Trump’s comments as an indication of Washington’s desire to prevent a broader regional conflict while maintaining strong support for Israel’s security interests.
