Washington, June 27
Israel and Lebanon have agreed to a US-facilitated peace framework aimed at easing cross-border tensions and creating a path toward long-term regional stability.
The understanding was announced after talks in Washington attended by senior officials from the United States, Israel, and Lebanon. The framework includes measures to improve border security, strengthen coordination between the parties, and support continued diplomatic engagement.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio described the agreement as an important step toward reducing conflict and encouraging dialogue. Officials from both countries welcomed the initiative while acknowledging that additional negotiations will be needed to address unresolved issues.
The framework is expected to be implemented in phases, with future progress depending on security conditions and continued cooperation between the parties. Regional observers say the agreement could help lower tensions if its commitments are carried out successfully.
