Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has criticized the National Testing Agency (NTA) after a NEET-UG re-exam candidate from Nagpur was reportedly assigned an examination centre outside India, sparking concerns over exam administration.
In a social media post, Gandhi questioned the functioning of the testing agency and expressed concern over the stress caused to students and their families by such errors. He said students deserve a fair and reliable examination system and called for greater accountability in the conduct of national-level entrance tests.
The issue gained attention after the candidate's exam centre details allegedly showed an overseas location, leading to confusion ahead of the re-examination. The matter was later addressed, and authorities reportedly revised the candidate’s exam centre.
The incident has once again brought the spotlight on the management of competitive examinations in the country, with opposition parties demanding improved transparency and efficiency in the system.
