AMARAVATI, June 28: YSR Congress Party president and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has accused the Telugu Desam Party (TDP)-led government of orchestrating a "Mega DSC scam" in the recruitment of nearly 16,000 teachers, alleging large-scale irregularities and demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry.
In a detailed post on X, Jagan claimed the recruitment process under the Chandrababu Naidu government compromised institutional safeguards and transparency at multiple stages. He alleged that confidentiality in question paper preparation was breached, result declaration lacked transparency, and sports quota rules were manipulated to facilitate alleged "backdoor entries."
Jagan further alleged that outsourced employees were entrusted with sensitive examination-related responsibilities, raising concerns over possible question paper leaks. He also claimed that several candidates who had received call letters and completed certificate verification were later excluded from the final selection list.
The former chief minister alleged that changes made to sports quota policies before the recruitment process, followed by their subsequent reversal, were intended to benefit select candidates. Referring to an alleged video purportedly showing negotiations for a teacher's post, he questioned the effectiveness of the state police investigation.
Calling for an independent inquiry, Jagan argued that state investigative agencies function under the government and therefore cannot ensure an impartial probe. He demanded that the CBI investigate the recruitment process to uncover the truth and restore public confidence.
The ruling Telugu Desam Party had not issued a public response to these specific allegations at the time of publication. The allegations made by Jagan have not been independently verified.
