Hyderabad, June 26: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified its focus on Telangana as part of its long-term strategy to strengthen the organisation and prepare for future electoral battles. BJP Telangana President N. Ramchander Rao announced that the party's National President, Nitin Nabin, will undertake a three-day visit to the state from June 28.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP state headquarters in Hyderabad, Ramchander Rao said the visit reflects the national leadership's commitment to expanding the party's grassroots presence in Telangana. He added that a national president dedicating three full days to the state is a clear indication of the importance being given to Telangana.
According to the party, Nitin Nabin will arrive at Shamshabad on June 28 and inaugurate nearly ten newly established BJP district offices across Telangana through a virtual event from the Rangareddy district office. Later in the day, he will address a large gathering of booth presidents from the GHMC region at Hyderabad's Exhibition Grounds before holding meetings with BJP MPs, MLAs, and MLCs.
On the second day, the BJP chief is scheduled to participate in a student conclave at VBIT Engineering College before travelling to Warangal. During the visit, he will interact with representatives of tribal communities, including Lambadas, Koyas, Chenchus, and Gonds, and later address a meeting of booth presidents from the erstwhile Warangal district.
The final day of the tour will include participation in the BJP Telangana State Working Committee and office bearers' meeting at Ghatkesar, where he is expected to provide organisational guidance before returning to New Delhi. Ramchander Rao maintained that the visit is aimed solely at strengthening the party organisation and is not linked to any immediate election campaign.
During the press conference, the BJP also raised concerns over the Tungabhadra river water issue. Ramchander Rao welcomed the repair of the river gates but questioned the Telangana government's stand on the state's water share. He alleged that proposed projects in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh could significantly reduce Telangana's allocation and demanded that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy disclose the outcome of his discussions with Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil regarding the issue.
