Bengaluru, April 22, 2026:
Karnataka Minister Priyanka Kharve, who handles key portfolios including Electronics, IT, Biotechnology, Science & Technology, and Rural Development & Panchayat Raj, met with representatives from Exfinity Venture Partners, a leading venture capital fund focused on early-stage technologies, to discuss a new India–Japan deeptech initiative.
The Exfinity team shared their plans for a curated platform aimed at bringing together founders, investors, policymakers, and industry leaders from both India and Japan. The initiative is expected to foster collaboration in cutting-edge sectors such as artificial intelligence, robotics, semiconductors, and advanced manufacturing—areas where both countries are actively seeking growth and innovation
Highlighting the importance of global partnerships, Priyanka Kharve noted that India–Japan ties have been strengthening steadily, with deeptech emerging as a shared strategic priority. She emphasized that such platforms provide valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange, investment partnerships, and scaling breakthrough innovations across borders.
The proposed initiative is also seen as a timely step as India continues to expand its deeptech ecosystem, with startups increasingly focusing on high-impact technologies. Japan’s expertise in precision engineering and manufacturing, combined with India’s growing talent pool and startup ecosystem, is expected to create strong synergies.
The Karnataka government expressed its willingness to support such collaborative efforts and deepen engagement with global stakeholders. The minister reaffirmed the state’s commitment to positioning Karnataka as a leading hub for deeptech innovation through policy support, infrastructure, and partnerships.
