Bengaluru | Health Desk | May 17, 2026 Karnataka Chief Minister has announced that more than 2 lakh adolescent girls across the state have been covered under the government’s Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination drive aimed at preventing cervical cancer.

Highlighting the initiative, the Chief Minister said the state is actively bringing preventive healthcare to girls at the right age, ensuring long-term protection against one of the most common cancers affecting women in India.

 Officials noted that the vaccination campaign is part of Karnataka’s broader public health strategy focused on early intervention, awareness, and strengthening immunization coverage in schools and communities.

The government emphasized that expanding HPV vaccination access marks a significant step toward reducing future cervical cancer cases and building a healthier generation through prevention-first healthcare.
