The Farmers’ Nyay Satyagraha led by the Indian Youth Congress entered its 14th day on Wednesday, with intensified protests in Mandsaur against the alleged US Trade Deal. Youth Congress workers staged demonstrations, raising concerns over the potential impact of the agreement on Indian farmers.
Protesters claimed that the proposed trade deal could harm the country’s agriculture sector, dairy industry, and data security. According to them, increased foreign access to Indian markets may adversely affect local farmers’ livelihoods and weaken domestic industries.
Leaders of the Youth Congress also targeted the central government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling the deal “anti-people” and favoring large corporate interests. The protesters described it as a “Modi–Adani–Trump nexus,” alleging that it prioritizes global business interests over farmers' welfare.
Participants in the Satyagraha warned that the agitation would continue until the government provides clarity on the deal and ensures protection for farmers and allied sectors. They also demanded greater transparency and direct engagement with stakeholders.
The Nyay Satyagraha is gaining momentum across multiple regions, with Youth Congress units planning to escalate protests in the coming days.
