New Delhi: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), a youth-led movement that gained attention through social media campaigns and street protests, announced on Saturday that it was ending its demonstrations in the national capital.
Addressing supporters after discussions with government representatives, CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said the protest had achieved its purpose and urged participants to leave the protest sites peacefully.
According to Ranka, the government agreed to the movement's demands following talks with ministers, prompting the organization to call off the agitation. However, no official government statement detailing the outcome of the discussions or confirming the claims had been issued at the time of reporting.
The CJP's protests drew widespread public attention for their unconventional use of humour, memes and symbolic imagery to highlight youth concerns. The demonstrations attracted significant participation from students and young citizens, becoming one of the most talked-about protest campaigns in recent week
