Geneva, June 15:

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that the formal signing ceremony for a landmark peace agreement between the United States and Iran will take place in Geneva on June 19.

According to Sharif, the agreement marks the culmination of intensive diplomatic efforts aimed at easing tensions and preventing further conflict in the Middle East. The ceremony is expected to bring together senior officials from both countries along with international representatives.

The development is being viewed as a significant diplomatic achievement for U.S. President Donald Trump, whose administration has pursued a strategy combining economic pressure, military deterrence and negotiations to reach a settlement with Tehran.

Supporters of the agreement argue that it could help stabilize the region, reduce the risk of future military confrontations and establish new mechanisms for dialogue between Washington and Tehran. The deal is also expected to include provisions addressing concerns over Iran's nuclear activities and regional security issues.

International observers say the Geneva signing will be closely watched as a potential turning point in relations between the two longtime rivals. If successfully implemented, the agreement could have far-reaching implications for Middle East security and global diplomacy.

More details regarding the final terms of the accord are expected to emerge during the official ceremony on June 19.
