Chinese President Xi Jinping welcomed Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Beijing on Monday for high-level discussions aimed at deepening China–Pakistan cooperation.
The meeting focused on expanding economic partnerships, infrastructure development, trade, and regional security coordination as both nations continue to strengthen their long-standing strategic alliance. Officials from both sides emphasized stronger bilateral cooperation and faster implementation of major connectivity and investment projects.
The visit comes at a time of shifting geopolitical dynamics across Asia, with Beijing and Islamabad seeking closer coordination on regional stability and economic growth. Several new agreements and investment discussions were also reportedly part of the talks during Sharif’s China visit.
China and Pakistan have maintained close diplomatic and economic relations for decades, with both governments frequently describing their partnership as vital for regional development and strategic cooperation.
