Actor-politician and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan launched a sharp counterattack against political analyst Nageswara Rao over remarks alleging that he had urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to jail former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. Speaking at a key Jana Sena cadre meeting in Rajahmundry, Pawan Kalyan said the comments were unacceptable and accused certain sections of deliberately targeting him politically.

The Jana Sena chief expressed disappointment over the silence of Andhra Pradesh BJP leaders on the controversy, stating that the lack of response was “painful and unfortunate.” He alleged that some television channels were attempting to “blackmail” him through selective narratives and media campaigns, but asserted that he would not bow down to pressure.

“I fear nothing. We too have anger and emotions, but we tolerate only to a limit. If boundaries are crossed, the situation will be different,” Pawan Kalyan declared in an emotionally charged speech that drew loud reactions from party workers.

In one of his strongest internal warnings yet, the Deputy CM said political enemies were not always outside the party. “Our enemies are not somewhere outside. Some are within our own party. First, we must control them,” he said, hinting at growing internal dissatisfaction within Jana Sena after the party came to power.

Pawan Kalyan also expressed frustration over certain party members becoming inactive after receiving positions in government and the organisation. He said it was “deeply painful” to see leaders losing their voice and commitment after attaining authority, indirectly warning against complacency and internal power struggles.

During his speech, Pawan Kalyan surprisingly praised political developments in Tamil Nadu and congratulated actor-turned-politician Joseph Vijay. He said Tamil Nadu politics had witnessed a smooth transition and called Vijay’s rise a “remarkable achievement.” Pawan added that the political changes in Tamil Nadu could become the beginning of a new era in regional politics.
