Venice witnessed a charged political spectacle as dozens of activists from the Russian anti-Kremlin art collective Pussy Riot staged a provocative demonstration against Russia’s participation in the Venice Biennale, openly targeting President Vladimir Putin with slogans and Ukrainian flags.
The activists gathered near exhibition venues, chanting anti-Putin slogans and accusing Moscow of using cultural platforms to “whitewash” its international image amid the ongoing Ukraine conflict.
