Gas Crisis Hits Telangana Hotels: West Asia War Impact Deepens, Small Eateries Face Closure

The West Asia conflict is disrupting Telangana's hospitality sector via a severe commercial LPG cylinder shortage. Hotel owners struggle to run kitchens, with many small hotels

Breaking News

Hyderabad: The impact of the ongoing West Asia war is now being felt in Telangana’s hotel industry, as a severe shortage of commercial LPG cylinders threatens the survival of many eateries across the state. Hotel owners say running kitchens has become increasingly difficult due to the shortage of commercial gas cylinders. With LPG imports to India reportedly declining, supply to commercial establishments has tightened, leaving hotel operators worried about the future of their businesses.

Due to the shortage, several small hotels and roadside eateries are facing the risk of closure. Many owners say they are being forced to buy domestic LPG cylinders from the black market for around ₹1,300, significantly increasing their operational costs. Adding to the problem, bookings for domestic cylinders have surged sharply in recent days. As a result, online booking servers have reportedly slowed down or crashed, creating further inconvenience for consumers and business owners. Hotel associations warn that if the gas shortage continues, more small eateries could be forced to shut down temporarily, affecting thousands of workers and daily customers who rely on affordable food options. Industry representatives are urging the government to ensure adequate supply of commercial LPG cylinders and take steps to stabilize distribution before the situation worsens further.
