Jaipur, June 21:
Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has criticized the state government over the ongoing tensions surrounding the Panchana Dam issue, urging authorities to immediately initiate talks with all concerned stakeholders.
Gehlot alleged that the government has failed to effectively address the concerns of affected communities, allowing the dispute to escalate. He stressed that dialogue remains the best way to resolve differences and prevent further unrest.
The senior Congress leader called on the administration to act swiftly, engage with representatives from all sides, and work towards a mutually acceptable solution. He warned that delays in addressing the issue could worsen the situation and increase public dissatisfaction.
The Panchana Dam dispute has triggered protests and heightened tensions in parts of Rajasthan, with competing demands over water distribution and resource management. Gehlot said the government should focus on consensus-building rather than allowing the issue to become more contentious.
He reiterated that a peaceful resolution can only be achieved through meaningful discussions and transparent decision-making involving all stakeholders.
