Bengaluru, May 12, 2026:

Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge has stirred a political debate after alleging that the BJP and RSS are preparing a “Bengal model” strategy in Karnataka ahead of the 2028 political battle

. According to Kharge, the alleged approach is aimed at strengthening grassroots political mobilisation and expanding organisational outreach across the state. He claimed that such strategies could influence public discourse and electoral dynamics in the coming years.

Kharge further suggested that the political blueprint being discussed involves strong booth-level networking and intensified campaign structures. However, he described this as an attempt to reshape political narratives in Karnataka well before the election cycle begins.

The Minister also accused the opposition of prioritising ideological mobilisation over governance-focused issues. He warned that Karnataka’s political environment should remain focused on development, jobs, and public welfare rather than divisive politics.

The remarks have triggered strong reactions in political circles, with BJP leaders expected to respond sharply to the allegations. The party, however, has repeatedly maintained that its organisational work is aimed at strengthening democratic participation and outreach

. With Karnataka emerging as a key political battleground, such statements are likely to further intensify the political discourse in the state in the coming months.
