Congress Member of Parliament Renuka Chowdary has launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of speaking “not as a head of government but as a political campaigner” during recent public remarks.
Addressing reporters, Renuka Chowdary alleged that the Prime Minister’s comments reflected partisan messaging rather than the neutral tone expected from the country’s top constitutional authority. She said such statements blur the line between governance and election campaigning.
“The Prime Minister is supposed to represent all citizens, not act like a party campaigner on official platforms,” she reportedly said, intensifying the political exchange between the Congress and BJP camps.
The remarks come amid growing political friction ahead of key state-level political developments, with opposition parties increasingly accusing the government of mixing governance with electoral strategy.
The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), however, is expected to defend the Prime Minister’s statements, maintaining that his speeches reflect policy communication and public accountability rather than campaigning.
