Pune | June 29:
A murder investigation has uncovered what police describe as a meticulously planned conspiracy behind the death of a 20-year-old man at Lohagad Fort in Maharashtra.
Investigators allege that the victim's fiancée, Siya Goyal (20), conspired with her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary, to kill her fiancé, Ketan Agarwal, during a trek.
According to the investigation, the accused allegedly used a pre-arranged signal before the victim was pushed from a steep cliff. Police claim the plan was prepared in advance, with the accused allegedly attempting to erase digital evidence, alter their appearance, and conceal their identities to evade suspicion after the incident.
The case gathered momentum after investigators examined call records, digital evidence, and reconstructed the crime scene.
Authorities say the investigation is continuing to establish the complete sequence of events. Both accused are in police custody. The allegations are part of an ongoing investigation, and the accused are entitled to the presumption of innocence unless proven guilty in court.
