New Delhi: A fresh controversy has erupted around the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya after a petition submitted to the Supreme Court alleged serious financial irregularities, misappropriation, and the disappearance of donations offered by devotees.
The letter petition, filed by advocate Anoop Prakash Awasthi, seeks immediate intervention from the apex court, including the registration of an FIR and a court-monitored investigation by an independent agency such as the CBI.
According to the petition, questions have been raised over the collection, accounting, custody, and utilization of crores of rupees contributed by devotees from across India and abroad.
The petitioner has urged the Supreme Court to establish a mechanism for continuous judicial oversight to ensure complete transparency and accountability in the management of temple funds.
The plea argues that donations made in faith by millions of devotees must be protected through strict financial scrutiny and independent auditing. It further seeks a detailed probe into the alleged disappearance and misuse of funds linked to offerings made at the temple.
The allegations have now been placed before the Supreme Court for consideration. The court is yet to decide whether the matter warrants further investigation or judicial intervention.
As of now, no official response has been issued by the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust or the authorities concerned regarding the allegations mentioned in the petition.
