Hyderabad, April 22:

The Telangana High Court has delivered a significant verdict regarding the Justice P.C. Ghose Commission that was constituted to probe the Kaleshwaram project. While upholding the legality of the commission’s formation, the court declared its report “inoperative,” effectively preventing any action based on its findings.

In its judgment, the High Court raised serious concerns over the violation of principles of natural justice during the commission’s inquiry. It noted that key individuals were neither issued proper notices nor given an adequate opportunity to present their case. As a result, the findings of the commission were deemed legally unsustainable.

The petitions were filed by former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, former minister T. Harish Rao, and several senior officials. The ruling has come as a major relief to them

. The court also directed that no administrative or legal action should be taken based on the commission’s report. This effectively halts any immediate consequences that could have arisen from the inquiry.

Overall, the High Court clarified that while the constitution of the commission is valid, any findings must adhere strictly to due process and principles of fairness before being acted upon.
