ndia’s IT sector is facing fresh turbulence as harassment allegations at Tata Consultancy Services continue to be investigated, while a similar controversy has now emerged at Infosys’s Pune office. The twin developments have triggered widespread debate within corporate and policy circles over workplace safety and accountability.

According to initial reports, employees at the Pune facility raised concerns over alleged harassment, prompting Infosys management to respond swiftly. The company stated that it treats such complaints with utmost seriousness and has initiated an internal probe through an independent committee to ensure a fair and transparent investigation.

The developments come at a time when the ongoing probe into allegations linked to Tata Consultancy Services has already put the spotlight on workplace conduct within India’s IT giants. Industry experts say the back-to-back incidents could impact employee confidence and corporate reputation if not addressed decisively.

Meanwhile, the issue has spilled onto the streets, with Bajrang Dal calling for nationwide protests on April 16 and 17, condemning the alleged incidents. The organization has linked the controversy to broader social concerns, escalating the matter beyond corporate boundaries.

Echoing similar sentiments, Vishva Hindu Parishad expressed concern, alleging a possible “love jihad” angle and warning that such incidents, if proven, could pose risks to national security. However, authorities have not officially confirmed any such angle, and investigations remain ongoing.

As inquiries continue, both companies are under pressure to demonstrate transparency and reinforce workplace safeguards, while the situation underscores the growing need for stricter compliance and employee protection mechanisms across India’s IT sector.
