Rahul Gandhi Targets BJP Over Dharmendra Pradhan, Calls Him ‘Symbol of Corruption’ Amid NEET Row

Rahul Gandhi attacks the BJP over former Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, calling him a symbol of corruption and linking him to the NEET-UG controversy and education reforms.

India

New Delhi, July 28: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday launched a fresh attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing it of rewarding former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan despite what he described as the failure of the country's education system.

In a post on X, Gandhi called Pradhan "a symbol of corruption" and alleged that his resignation came only after sustained public pressure from students. He claimed that instead of holding him accountable, the BJP chose to honour him in Parliament.

The Congress leader said that celebrating Pradhan was equivalent to celebrating "the destruction of millions of children's futures." He also asserted that students across the country would remember those responsible for the alleged failures in the education sector.

Gandhi's remarks come amid ongoing political debate over the NEET-UG controversy and broader concerns surrounding education reforms, examination management and student welfare. The Congress has repeatedly criticised the Centre over the handling of competitive examinations, while the BJP has defended its policies and accused the opposition of politicising the issue.

The exchange marks the latest escalation in the political battle over education, with both parties continuing to trade allegations as student-related concerns remain in focus.
