New Delhi: In a significant development, the Delhi High Court has permitted the transfer of environmentalist and activist Sonam Wangchuk from Safdarjung Hospital to Medanta Hospital, citing the need for continuous medical monitoring.

The court passed the order while hearing an urgent plea seeking his transfer to a private medical facility. It observed that continuous monitoring and specialized treatment were necessary considering his medical condition. 

The decision comes amid growing concern over Wangchuk's health, with his family and supporters expressing apprehension about his treatment and seeking advanced medical care.

Following the High Court's order, arrangements are expected to be made for his transfer to Medanta Hospital under appropriate medical supervision.
