Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has launched a sharp attack on Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for allegedly using derogatory language against Congress President and Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge. Rahul Gandhi described this comment as "condemnable, shameful, and unacceptable."

Rahul Gandhi stated that Kharge is a senior, popular, and respected Dalit leader in the country, with significant political experience and stature. He alleged that such language is not only an insult to an individual but to millions of people from the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (SC-ST) community in the country.

The Congress leader further stated that this is not a new incident, but part of the "calculated mindset" of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). According to him, whenever a Dalit leader raises their voice against the government or power, they face personal attacks and humiliation.

Rahul Gandhi also accused the BJP, which claims to respect the thoughts and legacy of Babasaheb B. R. Ambedkar, of consistently targeting Dalit leaders in practice. He said that attempts to belittle representatives of the Dalit community are against democratic values.

However, there has been no official response from Himanta Biswa Sarma or the BJP regarding this entire controversy. Political corridors have seen increased rhetoric over this statement, and the issue may heat up further in the coming days.
