The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Little Flower Degree College, Uppal, organised a vibrant Van Mahotsav to promote environmental conservation and encourage students to contribute towards a greener and healthier future.
The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from NSS volunteers, faculty members, teaching and non-teaching staff, and students. Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr P. Jayanthi Reddy urged students to plant and nurture saplings as a lasting commitment to environmental sustainability, while Director Rev. Bro. John Kallarackal highlighted the collective responsibility of protecting nature.
As part of the campaign, participants planted a variety of medicinal, ornamental, fruit-bearing and shade-giving saplings across the campus. Saplings were also distributed to teaching and non-teaching staff to extend the green initiative beyond the college premises.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of Principal Dr P. Jayanthi Reddy, Director Rev. Bro. John Kallarackal, NSS Programme Officer Dr M. Prashanth, faculty members, staff and NSS volunteers for making the event a success.
