Meerpet Journalist Stabbed in Land Dispute, Police Face Allegations of Inaction and CI Involvement

Journalist brutally attacked in Meerpet over land dispute; police face allegations of inaction and complicity as outrage grows over delay in registering case.

Hyderabad News

A shocking incident has surfaced from Meerpet’s Jillelaguda area, where journalist Shiva and his parents were brutally attacked by a group of six assailants armed with knives. The violent assault has triggered outrage locally, raising serious concerns about safety and law enforcement response. Shiva is currently undergoing treatment at Osmania Hospital after sustaining severe injuries.

According to preliminary reports, the attack is linked to a high-value land dispute involving property worth crores. Shiva alleged that the assailants executed a pre-planned attack, indicating a deeper conspiracy behind the incident.

The brutality of the assault has intensified fears among residents. Despite the seriousness of the crime, Meerpet police have reportedly failed to register a case even two days after the incident. Shiva lodged a formal complaint immediately after the attack, but the lack of action has sparked criticism and suspicion over police negligence or possible involvement.

Adding to the controversy, serious allegations have emerged against the Meerpet Circle Inspector (CI). The victim and local sources claim that the attackers acted with the support and knowledge of the CI, and that the assault was planned under his watch. These claims, if proven, could point to a major abuse of power.

Journalist associations have strongly condemned the incident and are demanding immediate action. They have called for a criminal case to be registered against the CI and for an independent investigation into the matter to ensure justice for the victim.

The case has now turned into a major talking point, with allegations that the attackers had prior discussions with the CI due to the high stakes involved in the land dispute. The incident has not only exposed potential corruption but also shaken public trust in the police system.
