Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said talks with Iran over reopening the Strait of Hormuz have made progress, although no final agreement has been reached. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said a deal could be struck within days, allowing freer movement for ships and potentially easing energy prices. Pakistan has also invited Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to Islamabad for discussions, underlining its bid to act as a diplomatic bridge between Tehran and Washington. Separately, a British maritime agency reported that a cargo vessel was hit by a projectile near Oman in the Strait of Hormuz.
