 Investigators probing the killing of veteran British political figure Ann Widdecombe have made another arrest, while emphasizing that there is currently no indication the incident was driven by political motives

. Police confirmed that a new suspect has been taken into custody as part of the ongoing murder investigation. Authorities said the inquiry remains active and officers are examining all possible leads surrounding the case. 

Given Widdecombe's long public and political career, specialist officers were involved in the early stages of the investigation. However, detectives stated that evidence gathered so far does not point toward terrorism or politically motivated violence.

Officials have appealed to the public to avoid speculation and allow investigators to complete their work. The case has attracted widespread attention across the United Kingdom due to Widdecombe's prominent role in British public life.
