U.S. President Donald Trump has called on major world powers, including China, France and the United Kingdom, to deploy their naval forces to help reopen the strategic Strait of Hormuz amid escalating tensions in the Middle East. Trump said international cooperation is necessary to ensure the safety of commercial shipping and maintain the free flow of oil through the narrow waterway, which carries a significant share of the world’s crude supplies. The appeal comes as fears grow over potential disruptions to tanker traffic in the region due to the ongoing standoff involving Iran. Analysts warn that any prolonged closure of the Strait of Hormuz could trigger major shocks in global energy markets. The Strait of Hormuz is considered one of the world’s most critical maritime chokepoints, linking the Persian Gulf to global shipping routes and playing a vital role in international oil trade.
