Banerjee alleged that central agencies and public resources are being systematically deployed to tilt the political playing field in favor of the ruling party.

Addressing party workers, Banerjee did not hold back, claiming that institutions meant to function independently are now being “weaponized” for political gain. She argued that investigative agencies are selectively targeting opposition leaders while turning a blind eye to alleged irregularities within the BJP ranks. “This is not governance, this is political vendetta wrapped in power,” she said.

The Trinamool Congress leader further alleged that taxpayer-funded platforms and official events are increasingly being used as campaign stages. According to her, the line between governance and political propaganda has been deliberately blurred, raising serious concerns about the health of democratic institutions in the country.

Banerjee also called on opposition parties to unite against what she described as “authoritarian overreach,” warning that continued misuse of power could undermine electoral fairness. “If institutions collapse, democracy itself is at risk,” she stated, urging citizens to remain vigilant.

The BJP, however, dismissed the allegations as baseless and politically motivated, asserting that the government operates within constitutional boundaries. Party leaders accused Banerjee of making inflammatory statements to divert attention from regional issues. As political tensions escalate, the war of words signals a heated battle ahead in the run-up to upcoming elections.
