Devotees throng Indrakeeladri for Ashada Sare offerings

Women devotees turn up in large numbers, bringing traditional offerings and joining prayers as Ashada Sare celebrations continue with fervour.

Devotees continued to flock to Indrakeeladri on the 22nd day of the Ashada Sare festivities, treating Sri Kanaka Durga Devi as a cherished family deity and offering turmeric, kumkum, bangles, sarees and traditional Sare.

The temple witnessed a notable rush of women devotees on Wednesday. By 5 pm, 44 Sare groups comprising 18,904 devotees had arrived to offer Sare to the Goddess. Women from various caste and employee associations, residential colonies and different parts of Andhra Pradesh took part in the celebrations in large numbers.

 Free darshan and blessings were arranged for the participating Sare groups. Temple Chairman Borra Radhakrishna and Executive Officer V.K. Seena Naik joined the devotees in offering prayers to Goddess Kanaka Durga. The steady rush of devotees continued till evening.
