Thousands of women devotees flocked to the Sri Kanaka Durga Temple atop Indrakeeladri on the fifth day of the Ashada Sare Festival, with Sunday’s public holiday triggering an exceptional turnout.
By 3 pm, 23,916 devotees, arriving in 57 organised groups, had offered traditional sarees and prayers to the Goddess. To ensure a seamless pilgrimage, temple authorities dedicated the Bhavani Anugraha Darshan queue to Sare devotees while permitting access through additional queues as required.
A new digital registration and scanning system enabled real-time crowd monitoring, allowing officials to regulate queues efficiently.
Executive Officer V.K. Seena Naik and Trust Board Chairman Borra Radhakrishna (Gandhi) personally supervised arrangements, while devotees received free blessings, prasadam and orderly access despite the heavy footfall.
