In a major digital initiative, the Vijayawada Division of South Coast Railway (SCoR) has launched "Punctuality BZA," the first-ever internal Android-based mobile application in Indian Railways for real-time monitoring of coaching train punctuality.
Developed entirely in-house, the app enables railway officers and controllers to monitor train movements from anywhere, eliminating dependence on desktop systems and overcoming the limitations of the conventional ICMS portal.
It offers a single dashboard with section-wise train status, Late Train Monitoring (LTM), Punctuality Assessment Module (PAM) statistics, lost train identification, and instant alerts for delays exceeding 15 minutes. The application is integrated with LTM BZA, a GPS-enabled in-house system that automatically records train arrivals, departures, speed, movement data, and detention reports.
Train Managers can instantly update reasons for delays, allowing controllers to analyze disruptions in real time while reducing manual documentation and enabling field staff to focus on passenger safety and operations. Divisional Railway Manager Mohit Sonakiya said the twin applications represent Vijayawada Division's commitment to digital innovation, providing real-time operational intelligence, enabling faster decision-making, improving train punctuality, enhancing reliability, and setting new benchmarks for operational excellence across Indian Railways.
