In a fiery and uncompromising statement, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay has made it crystal clear that his party will not seek support from either the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam or the Bharatiya Janata Party to form a government, even if the numbers fall short.

Addressing party cadres and supporters, Vijay declared that while the DMK remains his “direct political enemy,” the BJP stands in “complete ideological opposition” to his vision for Tamil Nadu. His strong words signal a clear attempt to position TVK as a distinct alternative in the state’s deeply polarized political landscape. Vijay’s remarks come amid growing speculation over post-election alliances in Tamil Nadu.

 However, the actor-turned-politician категорically ruled out any compromise, stating that power achieved through ideological dilution would betray the trust of the people. “We are not here to trade principles for power,” he asserted, drawing loud cheers from supporters.

The TVK leader emphasized that his party’s goal is to build a government rooted in transparency, social justice, and regional pride—without leaning on traditional power blocs. This stance could complicate government formation scenarios if the election results throw up a hung assembly.

Political analysts believe Vijay’s aggressive positioning is aimed at consolidating anti-incumbency votes while also appealing to young and first-time voters disillusioned with both Dravidian majors and national parties. By rejecting alliances upfront, TVK is betting big on a solo rise.
