In a proactive move to enhance pilgrim experience, Executive Officer VK Seena Naik of the Kanaka Durga Temple conducted an extensive inspection across multiple departments of the temple. Acting on directives from the Endowments Commissioner, the inspection focused on understanding real-time issues faced by devotees during peak rush hours.
The EO personally reviewed key locations to identify gaps in facilities and services. Emphasizing cleanliness, he instructed officials to ensure that the Durga Snana Ghat remains hygienic at all times. Authorities were directed to clear wild vegetation, plastic waste, and debris along the riverbank to maintain a safe and pleasant environment for devotees.
Special attention was given to the underpass connecting Durga Ghat to the hair tonsuring center. Officials were ordered to ensure regular cleaning, while staff at the tonsuring facility were told to closely monitor the condition of toilets and bathrooms. Immediate repairs were mandated wherever required to avoid inconvenience to pilgrims.
Continuing the inspection, Naik examined the safe water plant at the beginning of the Ghat Road and trekked up the hill on foot. He instructed engineering officials to increase the number of toilets along the Ghat Road to better accommodate the growing number of visitors, especially during festive rush.
Further, arrangements at the bus shelter and Om turning area were reviewed, where coir mats were immediately placed for the comfort of devotees. The EO also inspected the ongoing installation of shaded shelters around the main temple and issued key suggestions to engineering teams for improvement.t
West ACP Durgarao, CI Gunaram, and engineering officials including Koteswara Rao, Ravindra, and Ashok Kumar participated in the inspection drive, reinforcing coordinated efforts to upgrade temple infrastructure.
